Sandeman Imperial Reserve Tawny

Sandeman Imperial Reserve Tawny

Red colour without much sign of oxidation combined with a sweet nose. Despite the colour this tasted like a typical young tawny combining hints of wood with a mature sweet fruitiness.

Here we are in 2025 having just come across a bottle of this in a local wine shop. It appears to have evolved into a very different beast. The colour is a deep clear reddish brown with a nose of sweet dried fruits. Tasting revealed a full bodied tawny port showing plummy fruit flavours combined with an underlying rich oakiness.
