Royal Oporto Colheita 2006 Bottled in 2021

Royal Oporto Colheita 2006 Bottled in 2021

Deep reddish brown colour with a rich nose of dried fruits and nuts. The flavour was full bodied and long lasting. There was a good balance between rich, sweet dried fruit and citrus flavours and the substantial dry oakiness. This demonstrated what good results can be achieved when a full bodied and sweet red wine is aged for just the right amount of time in the wood.

Quevedo Colheita 1974

Quevedo Colheita 1974

Deep brown colour with slight turbidity. The nose was of old sweet oak. This wine had a good body of sweet dried fruits which was just as well as the oak was rich dark and complex. A superb wine for savouring at leisure.

Quevedo Colheita 2002

Quevedo Colheita 2002

Clear red and amber colour with a light nose. This port was a paragon of finesse with the sweet taste of dried fruits battling against the prominent dry oak flavours. The dry finish was long lasting and worthy of considered contemplation. In fact it was so good that we bought a bottle to enjoy when we arrived home.

Quevedo 10 Year Old Tawny Bottled in 2022

Quevedo 10 Year Old Tawny Bottled in 2022

This port had a surprisingly red colour with just a hint of amber in the rim. The nose was nutty. The flavour was quite fruity with just a hint of oak. This was more like a reserve tawny than I would have expected. One wonders how long it spent in pipas.

Quevedo LBV 2017

Quevedo LBV 2017

Deep ruby colour with a fruity nose. This was a rich and fruity port with delicate tannins allowing the fruit to shine.

Quevedo Organic Ruby Reserve

Quevedo Organic Ruby Reserve

Deep ruby colour with a fresh fruity nose. This was a rich port full of plummy fruit flavours backed by tannins. A good example of this type of port.

Quevedo Colheita 1992

Quevedo Colheita 1992

Light reddish amber colour with a light oaky nose. The oak was very much to the fore in this sweet port. As a result there was a predominance of dry woody flavours to be savoured and appreciated at leisure.
